Royal Botanic Gardens
In 2018, as part of Visual Communication Workshop we were to choose a place that we identify with or enjoy and rebrand the logo. During this process, our tutor really emphasised that we consider the “sense of place”: what is this place, what is the feeling that this place evokes, what the overall feeling of this place and what it means to the people that visit or work in this place. The Royal Botanic Gardens in South Yarra serves as a public space for the people of Melbourne, a place of leisure and a welcoming place for all people. During the design process, I wanted to include the values of welcoming and a space for all ages but also the logo being of organic style, in-line with nature’s smooth shapes.
