Adelaide Adventures

I’m a cover girl!

Studying a unit of “Editing for Writers” unit at university really confirmed my love for writing, I just never thought I’d get to do so professionally until this opportunity came about!

I love travelling and discovering new destinations, my partner and I planned on visiting the beautiful city of Adelaide over the Easter break in April 2023. Prior to our departure, our wonderful editor of the What’s Up Downunder magazine, Rachael, mentioned that Adelaide is known to be a caravanning-friendly city and enquired if I’d like to write about the city. I had previously written a short article in our Tough Tested magazine, so we knew my style of writing and knew I would enjoy the project!

Though I visited in April, we delayed the release of this featured story until June to coincide with the What’s Up Downunder TV show. Airing 3pm on Saturdays from June 10th to July 1st, The What’s Up Downunder TV show showcased a 4 episode journey to Kings Canyon, travelling through Hahndorf as one of the two routes. The June issue of the What’s Up Downunder magazine was released the a few days prior to the 3rd episode that featured Hahndorf, a wonderful coincidence that I happened to travel to Adelaide/Hahndorf a few month prior!

Being able to connect the TV show with our magazine was a huge bonus because generally the WUDU magazine is complementary to the TV show. The content and topics are similar but matching the two media was such a treat!

Alongside my own photography, I was lucky enough to be able to utilise Parable’s extensive photography that was shot on the trip.

My partner and I spent 3 days in Adelaide and so for this article, I complied the ultimate 3-day itinerary of Adelaide. Things to do whilst in the city, embarking on a wine tour that included Hahndorf and so much more!
